Seven Seas Navigator review

A review of the Radisson Seven Seas Navigator from CruiseCritic.com. This all-suite ultra-luxury cruise ship sails to Bermuda in May, June and August of 2005.
Highlights of the Seven Seas Navigator experience include: spacious suite accommodations (301 square ft. to 1,173 square ft.); luxurious in-suite amenities; impeccable service throughout; a generous space-per-guest ratio (67.3 ft. of public space per guest); varied dining possibilities (including an Italian alternative dining option and complimentary wine at dinner); an upscale Carita Spa (formerly Judith Jackson Sea Spa); and ten Internet-ready computers.

The Navigator experience is very personal for most passengers, with a majority of the staff (at every level) quickly learning your name and preferences. The small number of passengers compared to the amount of public space typically makes for a very quiet cruise experience.

Bermuda weather watch

Winter has the northeast and mid-Atlantic U.S. firmly in its grasp. How's the weather in Bermuda? The fantastic Bermuda Shorts weather page tells me that today's high will be 65 degrees (F) and the low will be 54 ... but the forecast also calls for rain. Not bad, considering what its doing here.

The Bermuda Shorts site has a really cool feature -- pick any day from the year and it can show you the actual weather on that day from every year since 1996. Sky photos from each of the years too. What a great way to see what's "typical"!

3.5 hours to Bermuda

Northwest Airlines will offer direct flights Saturdays between Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Bermuda International Airport, in Hamilton, starting April 9 and running seasonally through Aug. 20. The flight will take approximately 3.5 hours.

For those living near the coast, a cruise is certainly the more fun (and probably more economical) way to Bermuda.

Bermuda memories - excellent photos

Enjoy 7 pages of wonderful photos of Bermuda submitted to the Reefs Hotel by visitors to the island. Some of these tourists have a fine eye for photography. Or maybe they just get lucky once every thousand photos.

An island to yourself

This is the off-season in Bermuda, which means you can enjoy it without the crowds. It may be too cool for swimming, but there's plenty of other stuff to do. Christopher Elliott found that the people make Bermuda great.
If you want an entire tropical island to yourself at this time of year, skip the Caribbean. Try Bermuda instead. Balmy but not oppressively humid, cultured but not pretentious, quaint without being antiquated, Bermuda is practically abandoned between Thanksgiving and Easter and, for all intents and purposes, visitor-free during the two weeks leading up to Christmas.
